Recently, I was having lunch with all my co-workers (I work for a really small company). We discussed many topics from childhood memories to what we could do to better our products and services. In between topics, we had a discussion about religion. Most of the people there identify themselves as an aethiest. Although they knew I have a belief in God, they still spoke inappropriate words about those who do belief in God or in a god. But I expected that kind of behavior.
They gave many labels about the believer such as moron and extremist. What I found interesting is they also said the believer of God is weak-minded because he/she has to rely on Him in anything and everything. Here's my response to this: It takes a stronger person to put all his or her burdens on a Supreme Being he/she's never seen physically. Of course I don't mean to sound arrogant or proud about it but if you think about it for a moment, doesn't it take a stronger person to rely on a spiritual being? In other words, it takes more strength to let God control your life since mankind, by nature, is a control-freak. It is a lot easier to take charge of our own life - you know, making our own decisions instead of letting an unknown and unseen Being steer the wheel for you.
If you are an aethiest and are reading this, please don't take offense to this blog. The purpose of this blog is to let you know I am not sugar-coating anything by blindly saying "That's OK, if you change your mind, you too can be saved. God loves you." The Biblical fact is, we don't know who God loves because we don't know who His elect are. I am also not here to condemn you and say "You're going to Hell forevermore." What you can do is read the Bible and cry to God for mercy that you too could be a child of God - of course this doesn't guarantee salvation but at least it's on God's terms. I also have one verse to share with you:
Romans 8:14
"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."
